Our September starts out with a Machine Embroidery Class - 101 Embroidered Greeting Cards Class with Carol. This is a great class to learn the new technique of card making with your embroidery machine. Plus, if you attend this class you can join us for the 2 Day Greeting Card Extravaganza with Donna Rauff. Donna will be here as our instructor, and we’ve all been waiting for that to happen. You will really enjoy the new organza and fringe frames; and you will have them just in time for the holidays. September 6th the store will be closed to observe Labor Day. In addition to this, our store will be closing for a staff trip September 24th & 25th. We are looking forward to spending time with our great staff, which is always a fun adventure. September is an exciting month for us as we are a sponsor of the Ohio’s Amish Country Quilt Festival. This year’s Festival will take place Sept. 9-11 at the Mr. Hope Event Center. The Festival show includes a large vendor mall, many classes, trunk shows and a quilt display. We are excited to welcome Corey Yoder, Deb Strain and Nova Montgomery, along with five other instructors. Please click the link to check out all of the classes and instructors. Some of the classes still have a few seats available. The quilt display is going to be amazing and include the Quilts of Holmes County, a Special Tribute to Virginia Bauman, and many Quilts of Valor. Our good friend Maribeth Shreve of West Virginia will bring us a full display of the Quilts of Valor. These quilts will be coming to us right off the step of the Capital of West Virginia. September 13th grab your serger (any model) and come for a half day of Serger Club and make a Flatlocked Infinity Scarf. September 20th Elisa is also offering another of her Pant & Skirt Fitting and Factory Techniques Class. Learn about measuring yourself accurately, selecting the size and trace out a pattern, sew a test garment, and much much more. Ladies are raving about this class! Betty is a busy lady too. As you know Betty is our software specialist. BERNINA has given us a new updated version of software to explore. BERNINA Embroidery Software 9-DesignerPlus and Creator is now available. Whether you need an upgrade, update or a new version, we have it all. Plus, BERNINA is also offering a 30 day free trial of version 9. Betty is presenting the BERNINA Community Studio Constructing a Professional Pillow on September 14th. This is a great Home Dec class with lots of sewing skill building. September 20th, join Betty for another Community Studio - Software - Blending Colors In this class you will learn how to create different types of blends and how to change the spacing. Are you looking for a great shop hop experience? Join us for the Gathering Stitches mini shop hop. Six local shops will offer Demo, Donuts and Discounts. This “Triple D” Event is a must! We have a few Embroidery Classes/Events this month. OESD School of Embroidery - Turn Under a New Leaf will be held September 20th with Carol. This month you will learn how to create a reverse applique trivet. This is a darling trivet/pot holder just in time for Fall. OESD will also be sending us our favorite presenter - Kellie Rushing for a 2-day event, Sept. 28th and 29th. We welcome Kellie back for OESD newest Sew Happy Event. This is a great opportunity for our new embroiderers. Kellie will guide you through 6 projects over her two day visit. Class includes all kits/supplies, machines, lunches, snacks and prizes. October 5th & 6th Sandra Swick will be here for our Mystery Make Overlocker Edition. Come try out our BERNINA Overlockers. Spend two days serging on the BERNINA L850 and L890. Sandra returns on October 21st for hands-on experience with the BERNINA 880 Plus and 790 Plus. Both events will have one student per machine, including all supplies and lunches. These are great events to try before you buy. Sandra does a fantastic job of explaining all the features and making you comfortable with the machines in no time at all.
