Welcome summer! We had a great time at the shop last month, especially with our special guest Sylvain Bergeron for the BERNINA Boot Camp. He wowed us with his knowledge of all things BERNINA machines and techniques and had us in stitches (no pun intended) with his entertaining stories and presentations. Each day we had fantastic catered lunches and enjoyed each other's company as we learned to sew, sew much! We want to thank Sylvain for coming to the Ridge and being such a wonderful guest! We are excited that he will be joining us again in Spring of 2024. Be sure to watch for details.

Upcoming Classes & Events

June 6-8 we welcome Krista Moser back to The Ridge for another three day retreat! Krista is introducing a brand new pattern on the third day and we are all very excited! We look forward to three fantastic days of learning! We have one ticket left and would love for you to join us!

On June 12, join Elisa for her Serge Along Concord T-Shirt Class. You will create a t-shirt custom to your measurements that is sure to become a staple in your wardrobe

Speaking of custom garment construction, Chestnut Ridge is proud to offer the Ditto Pattern Projector. Say goodbye to paper patterns, pinning, chalking, and worrying about the right fit. Ditto eliminates the frustration and errors of traditional paper patterns because it makes it possible to adapt to any body measurement and makes design changes on the fly.

Join Susan on June 13th for her popular and very informative Sewing Savvy Block of the Month. This month you will learn Pintucks, Twin Needle Pintucks, Twin Needle Reverse Applique and sewing on buttons. All machines are welcome, from basic to top-of-the line.

Carol is back in the classroom with the Bowl Me Over 2.0 bag on June 13 and June 27 (two session class). This fun-to-make bag features a classic bowler silhouette with easy-to-grab handles and an adjustable, detachable carrying strap. The main compartment opens wide for easy access to the bag's contents

Did you take a bag or wallet class with Carol and need a bit more time and direction to complete it? Register for the Bag Finishing Class and get your project finished during this class.

On June 22, Betty is offering the Practical Digitizing Class. This class is the 3rd in a series of Advanced Software Classes offered at CRS. If you are interested in learning more about your software, please call the store to register for this class!

Amanda and Carol are excited to welcome you to June’s OESD Stitch Party! These great little projects are perfect for beginners and make excellent gifts! This month attendees will be making the “If You Build It” Toolbelt and the Gnome Garden Marker.

PRE-SHOPPING DETAILS FOR ANNIVERSARY SALE EVENT

We hope you will be able to join us! If you are unable to attend but would like to take advantage of the sales, we have a week set aside for shopping. We will allow customers to pre-shop from July 3 to July 8. Simply come into the shop during any of those days and we will assist you with your order. (No phone in or email orders please.) Registration for Runway at the Ridge is now open! We had such a great event in 2022 and we know you will love what Runway 2023 will bring! Contestants have the choice of six categories in which to compete. Categories include Apparel, Bags, Machine Quilting, Quilt - Machine Piecing, Machine Embroidery, and Designers Choice. There will be prizes for each category, a Viewers’ Choice Award, and a Best of Show grand prize valued at over $700! Check out the criteria, categories and registration information here!

The Ohio’s Amish Country Quilt Festival is fast approaching (Sept. 7-9) and registration for classes will be opening soon. We are excited for the amazing and talented instructors who will be joining us this year. You won’t want to miss classes with Charisma Horton (Quilt Piecing), Felice Dahhausen (Specialty Embroidery), Tami Pfeil (Floor Canvas), Kathy Farra (Featherweight Lady), Deborah Lesley (Barn Quilt Painting), Becky Yoder (Garment Fitting), Gerald Schwab (Color Expert), and our very own Susan Pfaff (Heirloom Sewing), and Elisa Milano (T-shirt Construction). Corey Yoder will be presenting a wonderful trunk show Thursday that we know you will love! There is still time to enter the Cabin of Your Dreams Quilt Challenge. There are cash prizes and we look forward to seeing what our talented customers create.

Are you ready for the first All Ohio Shop Hop? We are! This event takes place August 1 - September 30, 2023. There are over 60 stores participating in the Hop and hundreds of prizes to win. The All Ohio Shop Hop Magazine will be available the week of June 16th at Chestnut Ridge. This is your guide to all things about this event and includes the passport you’ll need to visit each store and qualify for prizes. If you pre-ordered the magazine, we will be notifying you as soon as they are available! The Shop Hop fabric has arrived and is on display now. You may pre-order your fabric now and pick it up on the first day of the Hop - August 1. We will also have clear shopping bags available for sale with the Ohio Shop Hop logo. These will be available soon, and may be purchased at any time!
