Our classroom continues to buzz through the fall. Elisa is doing such an amazing job with her garment classes and the ladies are thrilled with what they have learned. This month, Elisa will offer a Pant Fitting Class. Learn to measure and trace out the pattern that best fits you. Each student leaves with a muslin garment and learns how to transfer any fitting changes back to the pattern. Plus you’ll learn about zippers, pressing, hemming, and so much more. Elisa is also offering the Bodice Fitting Class, which is a great class to solve all your fitting difficulties. Continuing into October, check out Elisa’s Serge Along-Concord T-Shirt class. This knit T-shirt is a classic wardrobe staple that is fully customizable and designed for curves. You will leave class with a completed T-shirt that you will be ready to wear out and about. Carol is offering some great classes for you in September too. She starts on September 13th with Merry Christmas Stockings These stockings are stitched with the embroidery machine, and we know you will love this design by Claudia’s Creations. Not only will you be making these wonderful stockings, you will leave with a greater knowledge of multi-hooping and perfect placement. Speaking of Claudia, don’t forget that Claudia returns in October for a 3-day event Claudia’s Creation Workshop. This event will feature her newest design, “Patriotic Parade” but you can work on any of Claudia’s workshop-only designs. Need a new bag? Carol is offering the Margo Handbag September 19th and the Stella Bag and Wallet Class on September 26th. The Margo Handbag features a recessed top zipper closure, two large outside pockets, and a lining with six inside pockets. In class, students will have the option of adding pockets to the outside back of the handbag to stay even more organized. The Stella Bag and Matching Wallet can be made with just three of your favorite fat quarters and some lining fabric! The bag has a zippered top and includes divided pockets on both sides of the lining and the wallet has a long pocket for cash, small pockets for cards, and a zippered pocket for coins. If you have always wanted to use your machine for computerized quilting, join Carol on September 27th for the Maple Leaf Edge to Edge Placemat Class. This class features Amelie Scott Designs Edge-to Edge quilting techniques. Plus, you will create four beautiful placemats for your fall table.
Carol is also offering more of the ever-sew-popular card classes. Join Carol for a Holiday Sentiments Card Class on October 3rd. Holiday Sentiments is all about helping you with the written sentiments on all the major holiday cards you create throughout the year. In this class, you have a huge “bank” of digitized words to mix and match to create what you want your card to say. In other words, you build your own sentiment. Because these words are all separate, you can arrange them in a pleasing manner wherever they will fit on your particular card. This allows you more freedom! This class includes your card kit, a list of the words, in alphabetical order, a PDF of the written instructions, and a list of the 180 sentiments that the designer has developed. Your card making options are endless! We are so excited to welcome back Maribeth Shreve on September 21st for her Fabric Wrapped Rope Bowl Class. Join Maribeth as she guides you through the process of creating a variety of bowls - including bowls with handles. In this class, you will learn how to join the rope, how to start and finish off the bowls, how to create nice flat bottoms, and how to add handles. These bowls make great homemade gifts for any occasion, and Maribeth will also teach you how to make coordinating coasters and trivets! To round out the month of September, we are excited to welcome Dotti Ankeney to the Ridge September 28th for her fabulous Piece In A Day Bargello with Dotti Ankeney. Use ombre fabric to make a beautiful Bargello Quilt! During this class, you will learn to cut the strips, separate the strips, and then sew the strips together to make the zig-zag design of the pattern. You may not finish the piecing in one day, but you will be given instructions on how to finish at home. The border and quilting will be discussed in class, but done at home. There are some wonderful ombre fabric choices at the store, so be sure to stop in to get yours. Joanne will be back in October with three fun quilt classes. Join her October 9th for the Ombre Ripple Class, October 10th for Starry Night, and October 23rd for Plays Well with Others. These are all fun quilts that would make perfect holiday gifts.
