April classes start off with our Garment Class with Elisa. These classes have been selling out quickly, so don’t wait to check them out on the website. Bodice Fitting has been very popular. Elisa will work with you one on one, showing you an easy method to approach fitting for yourself and have you very pleased with the results. She is also offering a Pant and Skirt Fitting class. In this class you will learn how to take your measurements accurately and select the proper size. These are great classes for our garment sewist. Sit and Sew with Joanne and Betty is still open. Grab some unfinished projects and join the great group of ladies for a wonderful day of sewing and fun. As always, machines are available for rent or bring your machine from home. Joanne also offers various Sew Alongs on our “Friends of Facebook Group”. These are totally free! The ladies will inspire you to join them!. Joanne films great videos of the entire quilt process as you move along. You will have a lot of fun and gain a lot of quilting knowledge.

Carol is known for her outstanding bag classes; and back by popular demand, she is offering another session of her wonderful Boxy Tote Tool Tote. In this class you can make either the Boxy Tote, a darling bag large enough to fit a Singer Featherweight or the Tool Tote Bag so you can carry all your sewing tools and supplies in one awesome bag. Join Carol on April 12th as she walks you through the Riviera Bag. Carol has made her own revisions and you will leave with a very attractive bag. (No saggy bottoms here!!) This bag is fat quarter friendly. April 23rd you can make the Margo Handbag, another fun bag with zipper closure and 2 large outside pockets, as usual, Carol will share her special secret tips! Carol will also be offering her Kimberbell Club. This month, come and make two special projects. Make the darling Gift Pockets, which is a great way to make someone smile. You can add a “Sweet Tube” and fill it with goodies. This makes a great gift or card holder for a gift card. We are also offering the “So Hoppy Bunny Ear Bags”. These are great for kids to receive a sweet treat.

April is the beginning of our shop hop season. Join us on April 13th or 14th for the “Quilting N Cuisine Mini Shop Hop”. Visit 6 local shops for a great event. We have combined quilting and cuisine for a full day of fun, plus a chance to win a BERNINA 335. Tickets are still available so you still have time. Call or stop by to purchase tickets - presale $10.00 or at the door the day of the event for $12.00. Your visit to each shop includes a recipe, copy of the shop hop pattern (at the first shop you visit), demos, and a sample of each recipe.

Joanne had a great first session of Beginners Quilt Making. The first group is very close to graduation and they are doing a fantastic job! Because it filled up so quickly, we have added another session of this starting July 7th. We are so lucky to have such a knowledgeable instructor. Check out Joanne’s April 21st Atlantic Avenue Quilt Class. You will fall in love with this fresh take of the classic Carpenter Star Quilt. This quilt is fat quarter friendly or you can mix and match from your stash. Grab your 2 ½” strips and come make this beautiful quilt. Don’t be intimidated by your software! Betty is our software guru and she will get you on your way to becoming a great digitizer. There are so many great features of the new software. Join Betty April 8th for Bernina Community Studio and learn the Color PhotoStitch technique. Use the practice files or bring a picture of your own to turn into stitches. If you have Bernina V8 software, we also offer a four part Beginners’ Series. Betty does a great job with these classes and she will have you confident in no time. April 22nd, we are also offering another Bernina Community Studio for “Embroidery”- Betty will help you create the “In The Hoop Zipper Pouch”. Learn to combine the Endless Embroidery and Sewing stitches and the features of the Group and Rearrange Tools to place the applique stitches on top of a textured background design. Plus machines required for this class. We will finish off the month with an OESD School of Embroidery. Spring Garden Flags are just so darn cute! In this class you will construct and embroidery your personalized Garden Flag. Bring your machine or try out one of our Bernina 770 QEE. Wishing everyone a blessed and beautiful Easter Holiday.
