We sure had an amazing month of September!  Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the contestants of our first “Runway at the Ridge”.  It was so great to spotlight the talent and creativity of our customers.  Thank you to the audience for your support of the event and our contestants. As an added bonus, it was awesome to meet the friends and family that came out to enjoy the event too.  We hope you enjoyed the show and the fantastic food! Thank you to our wonderful emcees Jeremy Jeffries, Regional Sales Manager of Benartex and John Carr, our very own BERNINA of America District Manager.   We also welcomed 3 outstanding judges, Debi Chipps, Donna Rauff, and Gail Yellen.  After judging, Gail spent Monday with us showing all the newest BERNINA L Series Serger Feet. And last but not least, my heartfelt and huge “Thank You” to the Event Creators and Coordinators Elisa Milano, Susan Kaschak, Joanne Hubbard, and the entire staff of Chestnut Ridge Sewing. In this Card Making Class 101 you will learn the basics of Donna’s techniques. Have you been admiring the work of Claudia’s Creations?  Claudia will be with us for an entire week of teaching and fun!  Claudia will be offering her newest design Snow Country Express as well as any of her other awesome designs.  The workshop is being offered two times, so pick one of the 3-day workshops and join us October 10th to 12th or October 13th to 15th. All machine brands welcome.  

Joanne Hubbard will be in the house for a fantastic new class, Mini Quick Curve Table Runner.  We are just in love with the “Mini Quick Curve Ruler!” In this class you will learn the basics of the ruler and how to easily and accurately cut and sew curves. This easy-to-create table runner is perfect for any holiday or celebration and can be adjusted to whatever size you want. We will also discuss some of the many quilting options for this table runner; and if time permits, you will layer, baste and begin quilting the table runner. Once you’ve made this runner, you will have plenty of experience so you can jump right into making any of the other Sew Kind of Wonderful fresh and contemporary patterns. This is a great class to learn the basics and be ready for the Color Love class that is scheduled for December 7th.

These are self-guided sew days and there is always lots of sewing, laughter, and fellowship, so come join the fun. 

We round off the month with the start of the 22nd Ohio Amish Country Quilt Shop Hop. This year is just outstanding and we know you are going to love the quilt and fabric. We are so excited to display our beautiful quilt! We are honored to be part of this long running event, so join us and the other 8 fantastic shops in celebrating 22 years of this shop hop. The event runs from October 31st to November 5th, so you have plenty of time to catch all the stores. Also, we have some new and exciting events you will want to get penciled in for 2023 and 2024.  March 7 - 9, 2023 we will host an Extravaganza at the Encore Hotel in Berlin, Ohio. The event will include some major sewing, quilting, and embroidery Super Stars, including Amanda Murphy.  We provide more information shortly, but save those dates today! In January of 2024, we will be setting sail on our first CRS Sewing and Quilting Cruise.  Stay tuned for much more information.
