BERNINA is also releasing the BERNINA 475 QE Kaffe Edition.  This machine is the perfect size for small spaces or for taking to a class or retreat. It is loaded with 40 quilting stitches, 29 utility stitches, and 4 sewing alphabets. Added to the BERNINA 7 Series is the BERNINA 735 which offers innovative sewing, quilting and embroidering features, plus an easy-to-use 7” color touch screen. The new bernette 68, is the top model of the bernette 60 series.  This is a combo machine with which you can create overlock, cover, chain, and combo stitches. Check out this video to see the machine in action. Also new to the line is the bernette 62. The bernette 62 AIRLOCK is the coverstitch machine of the b60 series. The automatic air threader makes threading the looper thread child's play. The machine has 4 coverstitches and 3 chainstitches and can be used for countless applications, with which different fabric types – stretchy fabrics in particular – can be sewn perfectly.

Also new to the bernette line is the bernette 05 Crafter. Here is a video overview of the machine. 

Arriving this Fall is the BERNINA Medium Clamp Hoop. The BERNINA Medium Clamp Hoop is the ideal embroidery hoop for quilters. The square shape perfectly accommodates square designs common for quilting. This saves both embroidery stabilizer and fabric,  compared to oval hoops.  Easily position and clamp quilt projects in the hoop by attaching repositionable clamps. The thick acrylic template enables you to visualize accurate placement while providing proper tension during hooping. 

We are excited about the BERNINA Large Freearm Embroidery Hoop that makes hooping easier, thanks to the ergonomic twist-lock mechanism.  This enables the use of the BERNINA freearm with tubular items, such as T-shirts and pre-made bags. No more unsewing and resewing!

Also, now available for the 5 series machines is the BERNINA 5 Series SDT Module, which will elevate your embroidery experience. The new module enhances stitch quality, reduces loop formation, and provides a smoother and quieter movement.

New products are available for the BERNINA Longarms! Q-Matic is now available for the BERNINA Studio Frame. Q-Matic is a one touch wonder that allows you to perform simple edge to edge designs or intricate custom patterns easily so you can bring your creative visions to life.

Classes are filling fast, but a few spots remain in the Aunties Two Large Poppins Class. Garment making has really become a favorite here at Chestnut Ridge Sewing.  We are now offering several new knit fabrics to go with our knit garment classes.  Would you like to perfect your garment sewing skills or gain new ones?  Elisa is offering her Garment Construction Basics Class August 15th and 16th.   In this two-day class Elisa will discuss and demonstrate basic garment construction techniques.  Students will work to complete a lounge top and bottom.   Students will explore the entire process of construction and along the way, tips and tricks will be demonstrated that will SIGNIFICANTLY reduce your frustration and increase your success.  You will walk away from this class with a sense of joy and creative satisfaction!
