Welcome July! Summer is such a fun and busy time of the year on the Ridge. We had two awesome events in June. From June 6th to the 9th, we hosted a 3-day workshop with Krista Moser. Krista showcased her newest pattern, Flutterby Frolic, and another favorite of ours, Entangled Sky. Krista is just a delight; and as always, the ladies had a fantastic and productive time. If you have not had the opportunity to take a class with Krista, we have her 2024 class open for enrollment. This fills up quickly, so don’t delay.

Our Retreat to the Ridge was also a fantastic time. The ladies accomplish so much when they spend three days with us, sewing their little hearts away. We love our classes and are starting out the July class calendar with a new and exciting class. Tami Pfeil of HandBEHG Designs will be teaching her Holiday Floor Canvas July 6th. In this class, you have the choice between 4 Holiday Rugs, which are just perfect for this Christmas in July event. Tami’s kits come with all the fabric and instructions included. We love these mini quilts for the floor and know that you will fall in love with them too! Keeping with the holiday theme, Carol is offering Claudia’s Table Topper Class, Carol has been certified by Claudia to teach her toppers and she does an awesome job. You can choose either Home for the Holidays or Halloween Haven, both of which can be either a table topper or a tree skirt. You will truly enjoy the process during this 2-day event. Remember, these designs are only available if you take a workshop. |

Betty is back for Software instruction and is offering Advanced Software Practical Digitizing. This month is class #4, and they will be working with lettering on creative quilt labels and subway art designs. More classes will be coming, so keep an eye on her schedule. |

The Runway is back on August 19th! Runway at the Ridge was such a great hit that we are coming back with even more fun. Last year we introduced our own spin on the popular show Project Runway, and we’re taking it to the next level for 2023. We are thrilled that Fabric Designer and Artist Valentina Harper will be joining us this year as a judge! Her fabric collection Pumpkin and Spice is being featured in the Quilting - Machine Piecing category, and Rainbow Garden is the featured fabric in the NEW Designer’s Choice category. There are SIX categories, and each one will have its own winner. There will also be a BEST of SHOW winner, with a prize package valued at over $700! Food will be served, and the BERNINA photo booth will be set up with props so you and your friends can make memories to last a lifetime.

August 1st is the first day of the new All Ohio Shop Hop. There are 60 participating shops, and we are super excited to be a part of this new venture. Our commemorative items have sold out twice, but we have more coming. We still have fabric, and that will be available on August 1st. We look forward to seeing you August 1st - Sept. 30th.

August has some great classes coming, including a 2-day Try Before You Buy Seger Event August 28th and 29th. With the assistance of Elisa and Rhoda, you will learn all about the BERNINA L8 Series Air Threader Sergers while creating a mystery project that will be completed at the end of the event. |

On August 2nd, Carol is offering the Smaller Card Embroidery Class. Sometimes you just need a small card to accompany a gift, and this class will teach you how to do that. Home for the Holidays Embroidery Card Class is a prerequisite for this class. |

On August 9th, join Elisa as she guides you through the process of How to Copy a Garment and create a pattern for your favorite garment without taking it apart. This class will focus on basic pattern drafting techniques and strategies. The best part about this class is the satisfaction of drafting a pattern that you know you will like and that fits. |

Carol is back again August 9th and 16th for the Ultimate Travel Bag 2.0 By Annie. In this two-session class, you will create and customize your soon to be go-to Travel Bag that has 8 pockets inside and out, 2 with zipper closures. This carry-on compliant bag has easy-to-grab handles or an adjustable padded shoulder strap and a back strap to secure it to a rolling suitcase. Buttons on the bag's bottom help reduce wear and tear. |

Be sure to mark your calendar for the Ohio’s Amish Country Quilt Festival, Sept. 7-9, 2023. There will be over 30 vendors on site, and you don’t want to miss the classes from Charisma Horton, Featherweight Specialist Kathy Farra, award-winning Felice Dahlhausen, Gerald Schwab, Tami Pfeil, Deborah, the Barn Quilter Express, Amy Miller, and our very own Susan Pfaff and Elisa Milano.
