Well, in the blink of an eye, January is complete. It was a busy month of planning for 2023 and travel. As many of you know, Mike, Beth (Mike’s wife), my daughter (Marissa), and I had the honor of traveling to Thailand to see the gorgeous BERNINA Factory and tour the country. July 6th, Tami Pfeil will be teaching an awesome Holiday Floor Canvas class, which will bring us up to the Annual CRS Anniversary Sale, July 28-29. There is much more happening, so check the website. 

We are starting to crank up the classroom and we have some great classes for you.  In February we begin with Susan’s  February Sewing Savvy Block of the Month.  Master your sewing machine’s features and functions! In this block-of-the-month series, you will create a fun nine-block wall quilt, while mastering skills that you will use in all of your sewing projects. Each month, you will learn multiple practical and creative uses for featured sewing machine accessory feet, decorative stitches, needles, specialty threads, and more! You can also use your blocks as stand-alone mini-quilts, decorator pillows, tote bags, etc.!  All makes and models of machines are welcome!

Ellen will be starting some new classes for owners or anyone interested in learning more about Custom Quilting with Q-Matic.  Her first session has already been filled but she has added two more  March 23rd, 2023 and April 5th, 2023. In this class you will learn how to use the tools (markers, masking, rotating, trimming, aligning and resizing) in Q-matic to place non-rectangular motifs, mimic the layout of the quilt on-screen for easier design placement, check your placed design before quilting and how to queue up the designs and save the designs to save time as you work down the quilt. 

Elisa will be starting up her garment construction classes again in March and you don’t want to miss these. Join Elisa on March 13th for Pant Fitting and Professional Techniques as she guides you through the process of making slacks that actually fit the way you like them to. On March 27th, Elisa will be back with the Bodice Fitting class in which you will learn the basics of fit and be able to apply them to your clothing creations.

Carol, our tremendously talented and favorite “Bag Lady” will be kicking off Spring with some great classes too. Join her on March 15th for A Place for Everything 2.0 By Annie. This is a two-part class with the second session on March 22nd. Carol is teaching the ever-popular The Stella Bag and Wallet class on March 16th, and the Kimberbell Clear Blue Tiles Class on March 23rd. She’ll close the month of March with The Margo Handbag class on March 29th. 

We have a new monthly embroidery program starting on March 30th.  Carol and Amanda will be hosting OESD Stitch Parties.  These will be great classes for beginner embroiderers or anyone that wants to brush up on their machine embroidery skills.  The first month you will be making a customer key fob and a personalized Fabric Covered Birthday Card.  Kits will be included. This is an open format class which means you can stop in any time between 9:30 to 3:30 to complete your project. 

Joanne will be in the classroom with an Open Sew Day on March 29th and then back the next day to help you welcome Spring into your home by making tulips that can hang on the wall! On March 30th, join Joanne in making Early Risers, a fun quilt made using the Mini Quick Curve Ruler.
