Strippity Do-Dah Quilt Class

Class date and time: Thursday, August 10, 9:30 – 4:00

Fee $35 plus pattern

Strippity Do-Dah Quilt

This quilt is made using a variety of 2 ½” strips and a single accent fabric. (If you used a Jelly Roll to make the Mondo or Midi Bag, this quilt can be made from your left-over strips; and a combination Mondo Bag and Strippity Do-Dah Quilt make a wonderful baby shower gift!).

The Strippity Do-Dah Quilt is great if you need a quick project or simply want to practice your ¼” seam allowance; and it can be made from any number of strips (the sample has 26). In this class, we’ll teach you how to figure out the yardage for the accent fabric, backing, and binding based on whatever size you choose, as well as some tricks to sewing long strips together and how to avoid the dreaded bowing that often happens.

This quilt goes together so quickly that it’ll be ready for quilting before you leave.

Mondo & Midi Bag Class

August 8th. Price is $25.

Mondo Bag – The Bag to End All Bags!

Have you ever said, “If only I had room in my bag for one more thing”? If so, this bag is for you!  Using the QuiltSmart grid interfacing technique for easy construction, you'll have a bag that is not only roomy and comfortable, but you'll have perfectly-matched seams too. (2 ½” or 5” squares are used to make the patchwork.) The bag bottom measures approximately 10” square and the sides are about 17” tall.

You will have plenty of time to finish this bag in class.

Midi Bag – A “little sister” version of the Mondo Bag

The technique is the same, but the bag size is smaller – approximately 12” tall, plus handles, and 8” square bottom. 5” squares can NOT be used to make this bag unless you cut them into 4 – 2 ½” squares. The Midi Bag pattern pack includes enough interfacing to make two Midi Bags.

Instructors: Annie Sutphin and Joanne Hubbard. See Supply List.
