Brenda is a certified educator for Marti Michell. She has worked with Marti for almost 15 years. She runs classes and clubs at several quilt stores in San Antonio and across Texas. As  teacher, Brenda’s goal is for all of her students to learn in a fun and encouraging  atmosphere. While traveling the world as a military brat and then a military wife, Brenda has learned to enjoy new things and new people. So much of the fun that comes from her quilting is through the opportunity to meet new friends and share ideas.

“Precision Piecing at It’s Finest” by Jackie Mowday from Deb Tucker's Studio 180 Designs
Have you ever cut your strips perfectly, sewed that perfect 1/4” seam, made those flying geese or 4 patch just like that pattern told you to and nothing measures perfectly. Ever do a block exchange with your friends or guild and the blocks are suppose to be 12 1/2” and
some are 12” and some are 13”.

Wouldn’t you like to get those perfect points on you star blocks and flying geese. If so than Studio 180 tools are for you. The premise behind the tools is that you make your block units slightly oversized and then trim them down for precision piecing. There is a Studio 180 tool for every block unit out there - 1/2 square triangles, combination units, hour glass units, flying geese, V - block, lemoyne star, hunter star and more. Not only can you use these tools with the Studio 180 patterns and other patterns that call for the tools but you can also learn how to “Tuckerize” any pattern that you have. I will show several quilts using each tool or multiple tools than discuss how to “Tuckerize” a pattern.

Friday Classes

Starry Path Table Runner
Friday September 7, from 9 am - 2 pm with lunch break
The starry Path is a classic block design from the 1930s. This dramatic design hides its ease of construction behind a stunning appearance! There are only 16 pieces in every block, but those pieces were not so easy to cut until now. The from Marti Michell perfect patchwork template makes the end result so pleasing that you will want to make this block again and again. Constellation - Friday September 7 from 9 am - 4 pm with lunch break
A wall hanging project using the RAPID FIRE LEMOYNE STAR tool. You will quickly, easily and accurately piece traditional Lemoyne Star blocks in 10 different sizes!
